Vietnam
Tonight a couple in the fellowship has invited me to go to their father and auntie house for dinner. The family is from Vietnam. His father and auntie has shared their past to me, of how they have escaped from Vietnam during the liberation of their country from the communist. The Vietnam story, I have seen it from the movie, and I have read it from the book. However, for tonight, it was my first time to hear the story directly from those who have personally experienced this trauma in their life.
I can't image what will happen to my life and what I am going to do if I was born in that turmoil age. I can't speculate, as there is point to ask such counterfactual question. Perhaps it is only when we are facing with this kind of life-or-dead issue, that we will start to treasure what we have in our life.
