Make me a channel of Your peace

When praying in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus experienced the agony and loneliness in his heart. His soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. He asked His Father to take away the cup (the suffering road to the Cross). Yet He pray 'Not what I will, but what you will'. He obey, and He pray for His Father will to be done.

Then there is the road to the Cross, the way of suffering. He bear the heavy weight of the Cross; He was nailed to the Cross; and He has died on the Cross. He has finished the journey that God the Father has called Him to do. He resurrected in three days time, and by this He claim victory.

What does this meant to us?

It is only through fixing our eyes on God to serve Him and others will bring us real joy, strength and satisfaction. During this Easter, I thank God that I have the privilege to be used by Him in serving in different occasion, which allowed me to be fully immersed in His grace, and remember and experience His love that brought me comfort and peace. We didn't choose to bear the Cross. It is the Cross that has chosen us. He will make the weight light, as His yoke is light and Jesus is carrying it for us.

Make me a channel of Your peace,
where there is hatred let me bring Your love;
where there is injury , Your Pardon, Lord;
and where there's doubt, true faith in You.

Make me a channel of Your peace,
where there's despair in life let me bring hope;
where there is darkness, only light;
where there's sadness ever joy.

Oh, Master grant that I may never seek, so much
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved, as to love with all my soul

Make me a channel of Your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
in giving to all men that we're received;
and in dying we're born to eternal life.
