On Pastor Yau - my spiritual mother
Only till tonight did I realise that my home church in Hong Kong has finally got a website, and only through the website did I realise Pastor Yau, who has impacted me so much during my early christian life, has been sent to Gambia as a missionary.
I will miss her. She has already left a legacy in my life. During the time when I was confused by the incorrect doctrine of HKCOC in my early christian life, she was the one who brought me out of the deadend road through her love, and she has enlightened me towards the richness of the bible through her one-to-one bible exposition with me; During the most difficult time in my family when my parents was getting divorced, she has walked along with me, and she was the only person who understood and who could reach out to my parents, and immediate between them; During the time when I was broken down by the sudden death of my close relative, she was the first person to hear my cry.
Her whole life has been dedicated to God and has poured out as drink offerings. Now she has responded to God's calling to leave Hong Kong to serve the people in Africa ..... at her age to go to Gambia as full-time missionary...... here is a spiritual giant who has taken her cross to follow Jesus. Hope sooner or later I can meet her face to face again, to tell her that I am alright and my mum has become a christian. I will remember her in my prayers.
These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned somethig better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. (Hebrews 11:39-40)
